KULTUR im DIALOG - Stuttgart

STUTTGART
NINEL ÇAM van CHAPULL

Suggestions of a bunch of Projects, Concepts and Ideas which may facilitate to understand what Kultur im Dialog is, and how the next steps can look like:

  1. Visit Art: Periodic interviews with prominent figures of the Stuttgart, of Germany, or even with prominent people who visit Stuttgart about their visit any art production. This should be cultivated to a journalistic culture of the city.

  2. Virtual Budget: Students, pupil and scholars who live for a while in Stuttgart should get virtual budget for visiting art productions for free.

Similar virtual budgets should be organized with the towns which are close to Stuttgart, so that an exchange of audience for the art productions can occur.

  3. Writing News: Pupil, Students and actually anybody who wants to write about their visit of art productions should be very welcome and supported with honorarium. So that a culture of writing about art is anchored.

This culture should be cultivated and officially taken care in relation to the local and national newspapers and journals.

An internet platform could be used as the main portal where everyone can publish everything. The papers could know about the authors and contact them via this platform.

  4. Editorial Staff: As you may have recognized I preferred to write in English, even though I made my academic degree here in Germany. This has its reasons. Before all because I experienced often enough that German people whom I contacted in German language don't even reacted to my emails but they do, as soon as I write in English. German have big problems and even rate and classify people who don't master the language.

An editorial staff in charge for people who are not native German speaker is decisive. Since they also do 'think'.

  5. Free Tickets for the public transports should be for free. Without adding them into the costs of the tickets.

  6. Informed Institutions: An engaged attitude for being in a close contact to institutions all different types due information flow is decisive. Institutions like schools, universities, old-age homes, kindergartens, but also fabrics, firms, banks should get regularly information what is happening in the art scene.

  7. Tax Free: Sponsoring and promoting of private people should be tax free. So that artists are flexible by looking around for financial supports.

  8. Artist Cafés: most of the artist live in the border of living wage, about sitting in a cafe they need two think twice. Though they need spaces where to meet people, their own colleagues but also the fans, art lovers, clients. Café Künstlerbund for example should turned to be a café where any artist can get his 50cent drink. Von mir aus, selfservice und aus dem Samovar.

Artist from other cities and countries should know when they are in Stuttgart where to find the artists of this city.

In best case this cafés should also be a performing and exhibition places which are soft institutionalized.

  9. Regulations: The regulations of the city due to making art in public spaces should be changed. Sondernutzungsrichtlinien in CityRing Stuttgart is quite hart.

The persons on the side of the city, whom artists contact for getting information about making art in the public spaces, should have an idea about contemporary art.

  10. Fördermittel: I still don't have a cue why which jury is supporting which project. This bases quite often to personal sympathies of the people who are sitting on some chairs of the institutions. To think about how to solve this problem is decisive. People who are sitting in the jury should have known the work of the people who ask for financial supports. How do people take decisions about artist and their works, if they don't know it. The tickets for the performances of the artists who ask for support should be free for the jury (!)

  11. www Presence: The web as an information portal but also as a participation platform is to be think and work about.
